Assessments

We carefully assess each individual’s employment interests and career goals both at Bridges and in the community.
After the assessment is completed we explore different career fields of interest to the individual through tours, job shadowing, workshops and our unique ‘Partners in Training’ program. This enables the individual to make an informed decision about what career path would suit them best.

Employ Ability Workshop

We offer a series of job readiness workshops where individuals learn tips on how to land a job and what to expect once employed. We assist individuals with resumes, cover letters and interviewing strategies. Our workshops also offer a chance to network, share ideas or experiences with fellow job seekers.

Partners in Training

We have a network of local business partners who offer on-site training opportunities. These classes are conducted by employees of the business and are a ‘real world’ introduction to job expectations and learning new job skills. We currently have on-site training opportunities in automotive, janitorial, home health aide, clerical, office and cash register.

Employment Development

Once we have reached assessed our individuals, we provide targeted employment development by networking with Brevard County Chambers of Commerce to identify work opportunities.

On-the-Job Support

Once our individuals have attained employment, we continue to work closely with both the business and the individual to ensure a successful placement. These services include job coaching, skills analysis and management seminars.

Self -Employment

We are now state certified to assist individuals to start up their own business. Our individualized services include business concept development, writing a business plan, marketing strategies, budgeting and staffing. This is a wonderful opportunity for individuals with disabilities to become economically and socially empowered.

 Transportation

We can also help with transportation needs which are so often a barrier to successful employment. Please contact us for information about this critical service.
